Caelan Kuban,
LMSW is the Assistant Director and Clinical Consultant at the National
Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. She provides short-term
trauma intervention and trauma assessment for children and adolescents,
conducts local and national trainings and presentations, and assists
with community outreach for trauma-related incidents. She also provides
consultation to other professionals and answers questions and concerns
via TLC’s
online Parent Trauma Resource Center. Caelan serves as the research
coordinator for all evidence-based research projects at TLC, recently
completing two evidence-based studies; Children
of Today with at-risk school-aged children in Taylor, Michigan
and Restoring Hope and Resiliency with adjudicated youth in
Ohio and Georgia. Both studies showed outstanding, statistically significant
results across trauma subscales and mental health categories. She is
the author of A Handbook of Trauma Interventions: Zero to Three and
co-author of One Minute Trauma Interventions for Children and Adolescents and Trauma
Informed Care: 50 Frequently Asked Questions for Trauma Intervention as
well as numerous articles.
